shopping

Yeah! We went to Taka, Wisma & Ion today with Aunties Audrey, Aunty Sandra, GongGong and Popo!

Joel was very interested in the Crocs fair at Isetan Wisma. He took all the colours and placed them on the floor...when i put everything back, he kept holding on to this blue pair and walked around with it. So cute, right? But he didnt make any noise when i put them back in the cart eventually.

Joel was also super naughty and wanted to push the stroller on his own. He will scream and scratch our hands when he sees us helping him. OUCH! -.-lll

garden at imm

This morning, we went to (where-else-but) IMM for breakfast. After that, we decided to look for the "Garden" which we somehow always fail to spot.

As it turns out, it's pretty well-equiped! There's a kids playground and a water play area similar to the one at the Singapore Zoo - minus the slides.

Joel was very cautious at the playground...not very adventurous. -.-lll

time to go

It's time to leave...and sad to say that i didnt shop much. Actually, i also said before i came back that i'm NOT going to shop lah. Seriously. No joke. The only real shopping done so far was when Elvis was still here and we could go to town. I bought 2 pairs of cheap shoes & 1 Havaianas (only) - excercising self-control - becoz i really dont need anything else.

After Elvis left, Joel was sooo clingy to me 24 hours a day...it was impossible to go anywhere for long with him without any help. I dont even need to think about bringing the stroller coz Joel just wouldnt sit in it...and i'll have to push an empty stroller AND carry a 12kg toddler who refuses to walk...and wants his pacifier AND Bear Bear all the time!

The only places we go to are VivoCity & where-else-but-IMM. Haha! Thanks to friends who accommodate me & Joel.

For the last day, my sisters have taken leave (THANKS!) to go shopping with us & my parents - IN TOWN! Orchard Road! Woohoo~ I dont have anything in mind to get now...but the thought of going to town is exciting enough. Hahahaha... ;)

My shopping so far? Hmm... Other than the loads of $2 Daiso items, L'Occitane/Body Shop body moisturisers, Keratase shampoo, TIGI hair product, M.A.C. lipstick, Biotherm, Adidas Originals jacket, cheap CottonOn clothes, Junkfood tshirt (for Elvis), 2 Havaianas and 3 pairs of shoes ...the best item is my new Balenciaga bag - a belated Anniversary present from Elvis. Thanks so much! Muack~ ;)

O ya! I also bought a big, beautiful but light 4kg Eminent suitcase to replace my heavy 7kg Lojel. Hope my baggage wont be labelled 'HEAVY' all the time now. ;)

Joel? Hmm... He only has a Mr Men tee, Mickey & Goofy soft toys. Enough! Haha!

andrew's wedding

My mission for this trip is accomplished. I've attended Celine's wedding and my cousin Andrew's wedding. Now it's time to head back to Shanghai. So i thought i'll upload these before i leave. (Joel slept at almost 2am and i'll continue to OT now)

It's a small wedding of less than 20 tables, held in Novotel Clarke Quay. Some of my cousins came as "representative" for their parents/family...so i didnt get to see that many of my mom's side of the Chan family. Most of the guests were the wedded couple's friends and it was nice to see people make speeches about the couple who dated for 9 LONG years! Since Andrew's wife is from Malaysia, they also held a ceremony in Malaysia last weekend (while i attended Celine's wedding). Hence, the tea ceremony for Andrew's side of relatives is done before the dinner, on stage. Andrew's wife KoMing is very pretty.

The 2 other pretty girls are my (real) sisters, Audrey & Sandra. Eldest sis Yen Yen & her family are away on holiday in Australia. I know we dont look alike. Haha! The other family is my cousin Jeffrey, his wife Christie and daughter JD. As you can see below, Joel was trying to get chummy with soon-1-year-old JD.

Here's the photos...

pat pat pat

I dont know what's wrong with Joel. He slept at 1:02 today and 1:05 yesterday. It's like he has an alarm clock in him! We had gone into the room at about 11+pm to prepare for bed. Well, at least he didnt cry (like mad) today.

When Daddy Elvis reached home at 12:30 and sms-ed to asked if we're asleep, i told him NOT to call us coz Joel might be sleeping "soon". But it took another 30 minutes of patting and wrestling with the little one before he finally stopped moving. He usually falls asleep "all of a sudden"!

It takes just 5 minutes to pat Joel and make him sleep in the day...but hours to make him sleep at night. -.-lll

I hope it gets better once we're back in Shanghai in 2 days.

cute?

Daddy Elvis saw Joel's recent photos and said Joel is not so cute now. So Daddy, here's a photo which i thought was very cute.

This was taken at Tiong Bahru Market. Apparently, the uncles and aunties at the market also thought Joel was very cute and wanted to "touch" him as he walked past their stalls. (Dont! H1N1 virus!) An uncle even called him "xiao dao yan". At first, i thought it meant 'Little Handsome' ("yan dao") in Hokkien, but he actually meant 'Little Director' in Chinese. Hahaha...

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder...and all parents alike.

helping out around the house

During this trip, besides learning more words, Joel also learnt quite a few new things (from interaction with more people). One of it is wiping the floor. He's also very into "playing" with the bamboo rods for hanging laundry. He looks like he's practicing kungfu with these long poles. Be warned...WATCH OUT!

Here's the little helper...

take bag

Joel takes a laptop bag and wants to go out. HAHA! He's learning to carry a bag like the girls (!!!)

Note: He's also holding just 1 side of the handle.

night owl

Joel has been sleeping VERY LATE every night, way past midnight. Sometimes it can be as late as 1.30AM. It makes Mommy very angry, Aunty Sandra a little angry, and everyone else either worried and/or frustrated.

Sometimes Joel will just refuse to sleep and wanna watch his DVD, sometimes he just wanna throw the pillows at Aunty Sandra, sometimes he just wanna hit Mommy's head/stomach and shout "BEAT!", sometimes he just wanna fuss and cry...

Last night, Joel slept at 9+pm (becoz he only took 1 nap in the day), but he woke up all of a sudden and just wouldnt stop crying. He was soooo sad... It was a little funny, so Aunty Sandra took down the "evidence".

Today, he didnt want to sleep early again...and he did most of the above...and finally fell asleep at 1.05AM.

sounds on a farm

Joel likes the Old Macdonald song. He will say the animal while i sing the rest of the song, and he always says EIEIE instead of EIEIO.

Mommy: Joel, what sound does a dog make?
Joel: Ruff Ruff

Mommy: Joel, what sound does a cat make?
Joel: Meow Meow

Mommy: Joel, what sound does a sheep make?
Joel: Baaa!

Mommy: Joel, what sound does Joel make?
Joel: EIEIE

Mommy: Joel, what sound does Mommy make?
Joel: NO!

Oops... i think it's becoz Mommy says NO to Joel all the time.

found my camera

I finally found my camera (after it "disappeared" for 2 weeks)...so i'll upload some of the other pix that we took. I guess Blogspot is still blocked in china...so i'll try to do it before i leave.

at play

Joel goes to the toddler class...and snatches toys from others (as usual).

The cute pirate water bottle holder is a gift from Aunty Ainee. It has an embroidery of Joel's name. So special! Thanks! ;)

big car

Test-driving a super big $320,000 7-seater Audi. Mommy was so afraid Joel will spoil something. -.-lll

Joel, please sit properly!

chocolate lips

Joel enjoying his ice cream cone with his (worn) singlet as a bib.

P.S. During this trip, Joel developed a FEAR for BIBS!!! Maybe it's becoz we force-feed his medicine. When he sees me taking out a bib, he will SCREAM! Fortunately, it's getting slightly better now.

watering

Joel helps GongGong to water the plants which he calls 'trees'. (Like real!)

to market to market

One of the weekdays, we went to Tiong Bahru market for breakfast. Mommy Jo had the cheekueh as usual. Joel seemed to like it too! He's saying 'GOOD' in the last photo.

We also bought $2/pack biscuits home. Mommy likes the ones with 5-spice powder.

Joel "helping" to hold one of the plastic bags. Here's how he does it.

swimming

Joel went swimming at Aunty Yen Yen's new condo when Joel's flu was slightly better.

Thanks, we'll be back! ;)

goofy

Joel loves Goofy. I wonder why...

So we ordered a Goofy cake and did a rehearsal for Joel's coming 2nd birthday.
