from Amsterdam! We've been away for a week now. Daddy has some free time off work (in Brussels), and we took a train here (a 3-hours ride). We're going back to Brussels later in the afternoon...and should be staying for another 2 weeks. Hope his work will go smoothly (GOT TO PRAY VERY HARD)...and we can all go home on the same flight! I cannot imagine a 12-hour flight alone with baby Joel. Even though Daddy is in Biz Class, at least he comes around to help me out - esp for my toilet breaks! Keke... ;pCheck out this hotel we're staying in Brussels! The White Hotel is a really cool 4* hotel and looks like a boutique hotel. As the name suggests, almost everything is in white! It's looks really really cool! O...and the hotel room (not a suite) is about the size of 4 normal hotel rooms.
(The 1st room we had was on L2. Quite noisy with the traffic just below. The room we got the 2nd time is on L8 which is identical but with a fireplace and balcony...so Daddy dont need to go outside the hotel to smoke! LOL!)

can you switch seat with elvis? so you and baby joel can sit in biz class while elvis sit on your seat? i think they (airline steward) will understand that YOU need a big space more than elvis,beside you're his wife and carrying baby joel along. btw, how was holiday after all? is joel have trouble sleeping because the time difference and in a new place? is he wailing in airplane? is he eat solid well there? sorry, im asking too many, really need your experience for my holiday reference :D your hotel is totally COOL!! have a great time there and send my kiss to baby joel ;)

We checked when we bought the tickets...and it seems we also have to pay "Biz Class airfares" for Joel too if we were to switch seats. It just didnt seem worth-it esp when airfares out of China is totally ridiculously priced! It already cost us an arm (and a leg) to tag along on this trip. Haha! ;p
But the lady working at the check-in counter was sooo nice to offer us another seat just for him! We had asked for the seat with the attached baby crib. But getting a FREE seat was so much easier for me. I could also change his diapers easily on board with 2 seats' space (even the "BIG business"). ;)
Baby Joel took very well to the time difference (6 hours behind) even from Day 1. I was very surprised too coz even us adults can get jet-lagged from the long flight (14 hours including the transit). He sleeps kinda at his usual timings (although his bedtime is not really fixed coz it can be anything from 9pm-12am depending on his "mood"). To me, he sleeps and wakes up quite "normally" for the past 1 week.
On some days, we will feed him 1 meal of solids. I guess milk is still more convenient when on the move...and he's totally ok with it.
O ya, during aircraft take-off and landing, try to give your baby something to suck (pacifier) or water/milk. I believe it helps. Joel flew when he was 3mths and also did cry at times (not take-off/landing) but nothing too loud or disturbing. Haha! Fortunately this time was pretty ok too. It can get quite stressful coz so many eyes will be looking at YOU! Haha... ;p
