relaxing weekend

This weekend is sunny but still very cold. Brrrr...
Real feel of below 10˚C throughout the day with or w/o the sun (with low of 6˚C, high of 13˚C).

Saturday afternoon, we went to one of our favourite Japanese restaurant Haiku. It's not crowded at all during lunch. I've blogged many times about this over-priced yummy sushi place which is very popular (esp by angmohs and their Asian girlfriends). Usually, you have to make reservations more than 1 day in advance to get a table.

After that, we walked to a cafe nearby with a bright green door and a bench on the outside. The Cottage at 25a TaoJiang/HengShan Road. If you like something old and nostalgic, this is a nice little "understated" cafe for you to sit down and have a cup of coffee - alone or with friends. I took a walk to the 2nd floor and there's even a very tiny balcony. There were 2 people seated there and i didnt want to invade their privacy. There's a basement too (which i didnt see). Their specialty is Old Mike's Coffee "Lao Mai ka fei" which Elvis ordered. I had the "korean citrus jam drink" - something to soothe my throat. The menu has a lot of scribblings and drawings - i think, intentionally. (Google it, to see more lovely shots of the quirky cafe)

After that, we went to HuaiHai Road Parkson & XinLe Road. Surprisingly, Elvis didnt buy anything despite trying on some stuffs. Haha!

O and there's a huge dog inside one of the shops and Joel kept wanting to touch it and say "dog dog". All of us thought that he might be afraid of it. (But i knew Joel wasnt afraid of big dogs, but this was HUGE!) After all the window-shopping, we decided to dabao dinner home before it gets too cold.

What a simple and relaxing day! ;)

P.S. I called Parkway Health in the morning to fix a follow-up appointment for Joel in the afternoon, but they were fully booked and the doctor was sooo nice to call me back and tell me not to come down instead coz there are many kids in the clinic down with high fever. She said that as long as Joel did not develop a fever, it should be fine. She also said that many of the cases of flu now lasts up to 2-3 weeks. I sure hope Joel recovers faster than that!

Sunday, we went to the Carrefour on the same street as our house (Xietu Road) to get all the ingredients for tonight's dinner. It's our first time there although it's so near. We think it's not as as big/good as the Carrefour at GuBei. After that, we went home to prepare the food. We skipped Joel's Gymboree since he's still not feeling well.

Here's the photos of our hotpot with friends in our house... We wanted to invite Sosuke & HongNgai too (who are staying in the same condo and are our usual Sunday dinner kakis) but we dont have enough chairs!!! Haha! ;p

hi wendy,
thanks! i'm kinda complaining it's not very straight now...i actually have to blow a bit to make it straight & tame. but it was supposedly to be "not too flat". hahaha... :/

hi hipo mama,
i think The Cottage doesnt serve real food-food...but it's a really nice place to just sit down and relax. do check out their other pix. mine dont do them justice. ;p

not "hao ke" lah...but we dont mind having friends over. mostly, i will wash a bit and leave the rest to Ahyi. if it's a Sunday, it's ok coz she comes in on Mon. but if it's a Saturday, i'll probably wash everything, and let her clean the stove etc. haha! ;)
