food for thought

Today's a lazy day at home as usual after the buzz on Sat & the chill on Sun. If u've been reading my blog, u'll know i stay home most of the time on Mons & Tues (coz AhYi comes over). At the most, i'll go to the huge supermarket opposite our house to "walk walk". It's something like Carrefour with many different sections, so u can even find some things to buy. (Janis even managed to buy a nice jacket at the supermarket when she was here! Haha!) Even with winter gone, Weds are also starting to feel just as lazy. But i'm not complaining. Nowadays, on these homely days, i also tend to eat less - to lose what i put on during winter. Heehee... I either order delivery (eg the all-time-fav Hunan dishes, HK rice, Japanese curry rice), cook pasta, rosti, cha-soba, dumplings/"shui jiao" or instant noodles. Lately, i even tried cooking some marcaroni with instant Maggie soup-base!

Thurs & Fris are days that i will go out. I dont even need to remind myself that! Coz from Tues onwards, Elvis will always bug me to go out walk walk! When he asks me "What did you buy today?" and if i answer "Nothing, save $", he will ask "Why? Silly". Haha! Aint he cool!? Anyway, these are my fastfood days.

Weekends, we always go out on a date. So these are the times i eat GOOD food, no junkfood. This Sat, we had craving for Singapore hawker food, so we headed to the Crossroads restaurant here. This laksa is as good as what u can get back home (although without the "hamm")! I tried the white carrot cake (and realised their black version is nicer). The prata is rectangular and cut into 4 pieces. It was good too! We also had the barley drink, but that was awful. For dinner, we went to a HK restaurant. Usually, we seldom crave for Singapore food coz the food here is sooo good - very tasty with its MSG and oil!

Then Sun (yesterday), it was raining sooo heavily and it was so cold, we decided to just head home after our weekly CJ dimsum brunch, and even stay indoors for dinner. No delivery. We'll cook dinner. So we went to buy the ingredients before heading home. I whipped up one dish - sambal grilled GIANT prawns (with the help of our new oven), and Elvis came up with 3 dishes! The porkchop is Elvis' speciality - secret recipe.

Our rare Home-cooked Meal Rating: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥♥
I feel sooo loved just eating it! Sooo "xing fu"! ;D

The taste is REALLY GOOD! The pork chop is Elvis' secret recipe - which he doesnt wanna tell me. That means, he's going to cook for me all the time! Haha!
