In view of Vday, i picked this DVD to watch on Sunday night - P.S. I Love You (2007) starring Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler, with Lisa Kudrow. It's one of the many DVDs sitting on our shelf - forgotten, unloved, unopened. So what better day to watch it!From the beginning (till the end), Elvis thought that it's a boring movie - an understatement. But i was really touched and was sobbing almost throughout the movie! Haha! Maybe these are "girl movies". Here's the plot:
Holly Kennedy is beautiful, smart and married to the love of her life - a passionate, funny, and impetuous Irishman named Gerry. So when Gerry's life is taken by an illness, it takes the life out of Holly. The only one who can help her is the person who is no longer there. Nobody knows Holly better than Gerry. So it's a good thing he planned ahead. Before he died, Gerry wrote Holly a series of letters that will guide her, not only through her grief, but in rediscovering herself. The first message arrives on Holly's 30th birthday in the form of a cake, and to her utter shock, a tape recording from Gerry, who proceeds to tell her to get out and "celebrate herself". In the weeks and months that follow, more letters from Gerry are delivered in surprising ways, each sending her on a new adventure and each signing off in the same way; P.S. I Love You. Holly's mother and best friends begin to worry that Gerry's letters are keeping Holly tied to the past, but in fact, each letter is pushing her further into a new future. With Gerry's words as her guide, Holly embarks on a journey of rediscovery in a story about marriage, friendship and how a love so strong can turn the finality of death into a new beginning for life.

it was about exactly a year before i watched this movie at Lido. and i don't like it :/
i watched with this guy friend who thought the movie was not fantastic but still ok. me, on the other hand was totally bored, kept looking at my watch. i think the problem was i had too high expectation for the movie. i read the plot and thought it's going to be super touching and sad. many of my girl friends said they like it too, maybe i am missing the 'girly genes'.
i imagine in your hse, there is a corner that looks exactly like a mini dvd store :-p
yes, it's a bit slow...but touching for me.
Elvis DVD Store!
i cried and cried when watching this on the flight and then i missed the ending cos flight landed ... then i bot the dvd and cried again!!! such a cry baby! maybe super emo cos was preggie then
I always feel damn paisei when i cry on flights lor!!! Feels quite silly when other passenger or the flight attendant see your red/swollen eyes...or even hear sobs right?! So now, i try to pick the comedies...but sometimes those romantic comedies still can make me cry! "Jia luck" mann... ;p
