Shanghai - Spore T3 (to T2 for lunch at DianXiaoEr) - Bali

Finally, we arrived in Resor Seminyak after 12 hours! Just in time for supper with the Wibowo family. (It was so warm Joel was perspiring so much!)

8 Mar, Sun
Rise & Shine...and a big hello to everyone from Singapore! Look, a beautiful rainbow in the morning!

All the babies and daddies swimming. (The resort is quite old, but their swimming pool was quite nice)

Joel was very tired after the exercise. Lunch by the pool! (This is where we got sunburn!!!) Getting ready to go to the wedding!

Shinta & Paul wedding St. Regis Bali

Ehh...we were late for the solemnization at 5pm, so we waited outside the chapel. Nusa Dua beach is so beautiful (of course it's much better than Seminyak beach).

Inside the beautiful chapel.

Around the chapel where the tables are set. Just beside the chapel is the Bridal Suite where the very attentive bride Shinta even setup a Kids Corner! Joel was busy throwing the balls out of the mini house. I think he enjoyed that a lot. ;p

9 Mar, Mon
To Hard Rock Hotel for lunch with the new bride.

The group of friends who made it to Bali - from Singapore, Jakarta & Shanghai. (Becky, Jessica, Bride Shinta, Jo, Baby Joel, Elvis, Baby Johan, Astrid, Big Baby Noah, Woei, Big Baby Amanda, Sebas & Ivan)

Relaxing (again) at a cafe after the group from Singapore left.

Shopping time! For the record, Mommy Jo was the only one who didnt buy anything! Ivan, Astrid & Elvis all bought from Mooks. (On the right are small local shops which require good bargaining skills.)

Seafood dinner.
10 Mar, Tue Breakfast & "kite-flying".

We decided to head out to the rows of shops outside our hotel...but it was super duper hot that we kinda gave up after a while. It was unbelievably HOT!!! After the Wibowos left for the airport, we headed to the same street in the evening. The stroll was much better minus the heat.

Nice shops... (not nice prices)

We had dinner at Ku De Ta - a famous club in Bali. It was a huge restaurant and we sat indoors. There were huge beach chairs & umbrellas facing the ocean (more for drinks). The whole place is very WOW!

We were "under-dressed". ;p

11 Mar, Wed
It was raining in the morning. It's funny how i just realized our resort is actually quite beautiful on the day we're leaving! Haha! Maybe it's the after-the-rain effect...and not super duper hot. ;p

This is our (old) hotel room and lobby...

Goodbye, Bali. Hello Singapore.

Welcome back! kinda miss your blog...hehe...wow so many pics!! seems like u all had fun...
want to ask you do you bring along alot of toys when on holiday with Joel?
Do you have a close up shot of Joel in his swimsuit? I am thinking of buying one for Bao too. Have not brought him go swimming before yet but he seems to enjoy his bath alot.
Joel look so ke ai sleeping in the pram!
Stella,
Yes, it was the Green-Tee Day! For us, we just woke up, washed up and went to meet the rest for breakfast which ends very early at 10am (by 930am already not much food left). Dont even have time to bathe Joel every morning! Haha! ;p
Astrid,
At least you bought a bag at Mooks together with the guys. Becky also said it's her first time holidaying and buy so few things. Haha! I only grabbed a cheap Mooks tee on the day u guyz left. Otherwise...NOTHING. ;p
Alynn,
If you go, must go to that KuTeDa for dinner/drinks. They're open for lunch too. Very nice lor!!!
Hipo Mama Mabel,
Thanks! Yes, I always bring a few toys for Joel. LIGHT ones! Those loops, a few books AND cannot forget his teddy bear.
Joel's (12-18mths) swimsuit was from my sis. She bought it from Fox Kids. Glad it still fit. It's Joel's first time at a pool coz we didnt get a chance to let him try earlier (It's so cold here, then the Bangkok service apt pool was still under reno). I think Fox Kids is not as expensive as those swimsuits at dept stores. Coz i know some can be like $50!!! For babies dont need to get so ex lah.
I also saw some baby swim trunks here before we left (selling abt S$5 only)...but fortunately i didnt buy. Coz Joel also got sunburned in Bali. Was looking for swimming diapers too but (summer) stocks are not out yet. :(
Remember to prepare sunscreen for Bao. I think he'll enjoy the pool more! Joel did! ;)
Hi Jo
You bathed Joel in the same inflatable pooh thing during the trip? I think I saw one on carrefour brochure..and it has 'openings' at the bottom for the legs to go through so that can sit while floating in the pool i think. Is that the same as yours? or yours is reali like a boat where there is no opening?
Yes, we always bring that pool every time. It's not a float with the 2 "leg holes". It's more a swimming pool.
Wow!! So many more pics. The shop has the not so nice price looks good though. Like many cool things.
Cheers,
Stella
Stella,
Yes those rows of shops were quite nice - esp the little girls clothes! Super cute!
We didnt shop at the small pasam-malam shops - although the others had "recki" and even bought some really cheap stuffs. Even have less than S$5 clothes!!! Amazing, right?!!!
Hi Jo,
i forgot to check with you what brand of sunblock did u apply on Joel when siwmming? is it good?
Btw, Joel is on what brand of shampoo and body foam?
Hipo Mama,
We didnt prepare any sunblock (coz they dont sell during winter)!!! I wanted to get in transit at Changi Airport but FORGOT all about it rushing to Dian Xiao Er at T3!!! So, we got it last minute in Bali and only have the Nivea brand (for kids). I dont know if it's really good coz we were already sunburned by then...but still better than nothing. The sun is really terrible in Bali!!! :(
Joel has been using Pigeon shampoo & body foam. I got him the Johnson's moisturising body foam for winter (the green newer model) & it smells really good too. BUT think have to quickly finish it coz there's the 'Johnson's-scare' now (in China) although Joel is fine with it.
ya Bao is using the jnj head and body shampoo...with the scare, i thinking of changing...
Pigeon should be ok ...thanks for info...
O i didnt know the J&J thingie also affected in Spore. I thought only China.
Our Shanghainese friend said Pigeon also like not very good leh. (Her son is using too and she also wanna change) Pigeon is an affordable brand here though. Joel uses Mustela cream (moisturiser for face) and I checked their shampoo/bath etc very ex leh. So I also dont know how... But so far, Joel dont have any problems lah...
http://www.mustelausa.com
actually i dun kn whether if only jnj made in a particular country is affected. So i kaisu thinking of changing ...:) ya mustela qt ex...
now i actually use cetaphil for Bao's body and jnj for hair only.
when he was newborn i used lataycd (dun kn if spelled this way). This brand also have a feminine wash. it need no rinsing like cetaphil.
since Bao was newborn, i just put a few drops into the bathtub and bathe him in the water.
